Baffles

The baffles are fitted above the diffusion pump and effectively protect the vacuum chambers from the physical fuel backflow.

As well as the tried and tested BALZERS baffles, HSR has also its own developments in the range, which include cost-saving improvements.

Water baffle - sizes DN 320 to DN 1000

The baffles in this range are optically non-transparent and can be put to use in virtually all areas where a practically oil vapour free vacuum should be created. The casings are made of ordinary steel and the inserts like baffle plate, chevrons and coiling coil are made of copper. The Teflon-coated inner wall of the baffle casing also acts to prevent fuel loss.

Combi baffle - sizes DN 320 to DN 1000

The baffles in this range can either be cooled by polycold, liquid nitrogen, cooling-machine or water. They can also be fitted as a multi-cooling baffle in the combination refrigerating machine – Polycold/LN2. The LN2-reservoir is integrated in the cooling element.

HSR multi-baffle type BFC - sizes DN 320 to DN 630

This newly developed range can either be cooled by polycold, liquid nitrogen, cooling-machine or water. They are designed for the highest possible throughput and yield the same conductance as a conventional baffle of the same size, and possess the advantages of the combi-baffle at the same time.
